The January Lanterns - think Phoebe Bridgers lyrics meets Bon Iver backing tracks and The Paper Kites harmonies – is made up of husband-wife duo, Andrew and Kristen Camp. The Missouri-based pop folk band started in 2017 after Andrew and Kristen forged a new path to save their marriage. They started writing songs and used music as a form of therapy and as a way to fall back in love. The project started small and now they are continuing to grow their music career and their love for each other.
The January Lanterns won the 2021 “Voices of Columbia” award to a sold out crowd in their hometown of Columbia, Missouri. The band released an EP available on all streaming platforms; “Wild Innocence” in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. They were picked to play in their hometown’s largest music festival, Roots N Blues, in 2019. They have also had the opportunity to open for internationally-recognized bands including Diamond Rio, Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), and ONA.
