Columbia Jones has spent the better part of the last three years traveling the country, cutting his teeth as a blues-fueled one-man band – a path that has helped Columbia develop the dynamic range of country, rock, and folk influences showcased throughout his first full-length studio album, I’m a Terrible Human Being.
While musically the album blends genres throughout, lyrically many of the tracks serve to support the thesis statement presented by the album’s title. Columbia relates the particulars of making a living as a full-time traveling musician against the contrasting backdrop of “grownup” expectations and the accompanying “real world” measurements of success as either a tongue-in-cheek expression, or a pious confession.
