"Roots 'n Raw Blues" featuring Chris Ruest of the Christ Ruest BAND (Bristol, CT), Eve Monsees and Mike Buck of Even & the Exiles (Austin, TX).
A veteran with nearly two decades’ experience on the bandstand, Ruest’s passion for classic blues (jump, Chicago, and Gulf Coast) and roots rock forms comes through in an original voice that combines immediacy and authenticity. Dead-on songwriting and savvy selection of covers provide a platform for his unaffected, honest vocals and tough guitar.
Eve Monsees is up for "Best Guitar Player" at the 37th Annual Austin Music Awards to be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Her band, Eve Monsees & the Exiles, lay down Blues grooves, Texas roots and trashy garage from Austin, TX.
Mike Buck is a nominee for the 2018 - 2019 Texas Music Hall of Fame. Adding stone-cold style to any gathering, drummer Buck remains an integral backbeat to Austin music after five decades of performing. The Ft. Worth-raised son of record collectors, he relocated here in 1977 and made a name for himself in the Fabulous Thunderbirds and LeRoi Brothers. He’s played with Doug Sahm, Omar & the Howlers, and Roky Erickson, while backing Lightnin’ Hopkins, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, and Bo Diddley. Buck earned a 1986 Grammy nomination with Big Guitars From Texas. Today, he co-owns Antone’s Record Store and maintains his status as a first call drummer in regular acts Les Débauchés and Eve & the Exiles.
