Blue Lotus presents Bob Case and Paul Niehaus IV.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Bob Case was naturally influenced by the music around him. The Rhythm and Blues of Little Milton, Albert King, Ike & Tina Turner, and Fontella Bass along with the rock and roll of Chuck Berry, and country & bluegrass from southern Missouri.
A guitarist since his mid-teens with skills on the electric bass playing music was a big part of his education. Out of high school Bob left St. Louis traveling south to hear and learn directly from Country Blues players Bukka White, Furry Lewis, Sleepy John Estes and Mississippi Fred McDowell who were getting attention in the 60’s folk blues revival.
In the early 70’s Bob left for the East Coast to start a national career, first in Boston and later in New York City. After returning to St. Louis in the 90’s whether playing with his band or as a solo artist in festivals and clubs people everywhere enjoy his sound. For over 25 years he has been a big part of Mardi Gras parades and celebrations performing New Orleans Rhythm and Blues with his group the Wild Accusations for the Soulard Pet Parade since it first began.
“Music is a participant sport, I like to play music that brings people together”. And, the American roots level music Bob draws from does just that.
