From Ben Wood:

Gypsy Jazz Comes to St. Louis
This year, for the first time, St Louis gets it’s own music festival dedicated to the music of
great Gypsy guitarist, Django Reinhardt. Django and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France
created a genre of jazz in Paris in the 30s that resonates with audiences all over the world
today, and has come be known as Gypsy Jazz. October 23, 24th and 25th this music will be highlighted at St. Louis Central West End’s Evangeline’s Bistro and Music House. ‘St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival- Celebrate Django’ will feature a gathering of current American masters of the style, including local acts Franglais and Coco Rico, and musicians from around the country, including Dallas Vietty, a nationally renowned accordionist from Philadelphia, PA,  Ivan Pena, a hotshot guitarist from Tulsa, OK, Swing 39 from Louisville, KY, and Grammy-winning vocalist Miles Griffith from New York, NY.
The festivities start Friday night at 7pm and continue through the weekend. Concerts,
Jam sessions, and workshops will be available to the public. Information is available at http://
www.facebook.com/StLouisGypsyJazzFestival/. Join us for a swinging celebration of one of the worlds greatest musicians! Sponsors include D’addario Strings, Mr. Michael Bauer, and local contributors. Evangeline’s Bistro and Music house is located at 512 N. Euclid. St. Louis 63108 (314) 367-3644. Reservations are strongly recommended. !
